FROM FIRE TO FRUITION

It started in England. As I was falling asleep Christmas Eve 2000, the door to my subconscious mind opened and I saw myself living a life, owning my own business with lots of people around that I loved. I was so happy...

The following year this dream still plagued me as it sat in the forefront of my mind. I knew that the life I was living was coming to an end. I was scared to death.

Many things happened in 2001, one synchronicity after another, showing me the way to the future. Needless to say, I left England, my marriage of 11 years and my life, as I had known it. With three kids in tow across the Atlantic Ocean, I had a feeling that I was working towards something, yet all I had to go on was a dream and a the name, Sacred Haven, that came to me in a meditation.

Upon arrival back in the great US of A, I searched through the want ads and found nothing. Then, - Don't ask me how it all happened, I call it divine intervention, but I opened the phonebook not knowing what I was looking for and opened to the page of massage schools. I felt a wave of heat pass through me. One week later I was a fulltime student, one year later, a graduate. At this point I had to figure out where to start this new life of mine, and since I couldn't afford Sarasota, I chose Venice. My family thought I was crazy to move to a town an hour away with no family for support, alone with three kids.

During the next three years, I, at times thought I was crazy too. Alone, sometimes working three jobs, now becoming the provider, I almost forgot what is was like to just be a mom. But, we did it somehow. With the dream still lingering quietly in the back of my mind, I talked about it to anyone who would listen, knowing somehow, someday, it would miraculously come true.

Then the miracle started to happen. At the time it didn't look anything like a miracle. It looked like a brushfire out of control, burning everything I had created in the last three years. I was petrified beyond belief, paralyzed with uncertainty and feeling like I was disintegrating into ashes right before my eyes, in which I did.

Propelled to move forward into what had only been a dream, I have to admit I was kicking and screaming in fear. During the next four months my family and my friends invested time and support into helping me to manifest my dream. I was learning how to open a business, one step at a time. "One foot in front of the other, you can make it, just believe in yourself," the little voice inside my head would say. There was a horrendous amount of work, but it was a true labor of love that was shared with some of my most loving and loyal friends.

In October 2006, my massage establishment license arrived in the mail, the last step in the journey of making the dream a reality. Sacred Haven was officially born October 2006, more beautiful than I had ever imagined and created out of pure love!

Every morning when I walk in I can sense that Sacred Haven has taken on a life of her own.With her own heartbeat, she beats with love. The love that we instilled during those four months of pure creation reflects back onto everyone who walks through her door. She is my gift, and she is a gift that I love sharing with everyone.
